Welcome to Exploring Computer Science
Class Overview
Exploring Computer Science is a year-long, research-based, high school intro-level computer science curriculum that focuses on broadening participation in computing. By the end of the school year, students taking this class will be able to:
Understand human-computer interaction.
Understand problem-solving and improve problem-solving skills.
Expand their knowledge of web design and design web pages.
Introduce some basic issues associated with program design and development.
Explore how computing has facilitated new methods of managing and interpreting data.
Mr. Danticat
Hello, My name is Mr. Danticat and I have the pleasure of teaching Exploring Computer Science.
I grew up in Brooklyn, New York and I went on to graduate in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.
My experiences working in Massachusetts and New York for 14 years in technical support and as a project specialist, have inspired me to commit to encouraging more of our students to engage in STEM careers.
This is my second year teaching at Takoma Academy as my family and I have just recently moved to Maryland from NYC. I am excited to introduce the fun and challenging course work planned and I look forward to collaborating with students to ensure a successful academic school year!
